SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary (1:1 & Classroom Support)

£107 per day - paid weekly

We are seeking a committed, compassionate, and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Skelmersdale from January. This is a long-term opportunity working with primary-aged pupils, providing both 1:1 and classroom-based support, with a strong focus on ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition).

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a genuine difference in children's lives and is confident supporting pupils with additional needs, including personal care where required.

The Role:

  • Providing 1:1 support for pupils with ASC, helping them access learning and manage emotional and behavioural needs

  • Supporting pupils within the classroom environment, adapting tasks and activities to individual needs

  • Assisting with personal care, daily routines, and emotional regulation

  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to deliver consistent, tailored support

  • Promoting a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience in ASC support (school-based or transferable settings)

  • Background in support work, youth work, care work, or SEN education (highly valued)

  • Confidence supporting children with additional learning, communication, and sensory needs

  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach

  • Strong safeguarding awareness and reliability

  • Personal experience supporting SEND (family or informal) is welcomed and valued
